Origin & Harvest
Muguet cannot be extracted from the natural flower (Convallaria majalis). The note is always a synthetic reconstruction. This makes it one of the great achievements of modern perfumery chemistry.
Key Molecules
Hydroxycitronellal is the classic muguet molecule. Lilial (now restricted) was long essential. Modern reconstructions use Lyral alternatives, Bourgeonal, and Hedione to build the dewy, green floral effect.
Safety & Regulation
Recent IFRA restrictions on Lilial (Butylphenyl methylpropional) have required reformulation of many muguet accords. Current reconstructions use compliant alternatives. Standard allergen declarations apply.

Essential to Diorissimo by Dior, one of the greatest perfumes ever created. Found in countless fresh and floral compositions. Pairs with rose, jasmine, and green notes. In KIDA KYO, muguet adds crystalline freshness.
History
Lily of the valley is a symbol of spring and good fortune in France. The tradition of giving muguet on May 1st dates to 1561. Its perfumery reconstruction began in the early 20th century with the synthesis of hydroxycitronellal.
